BIOGRAPHY

 Working directly from the subject is what drives my creativity. Immediate responses to land, sea, changing light, weather and seasons are my main subjects and  how I relate to them through my work. Using mixed media allows me to be experimental and expressive, often using physical elements of nature within my work.

Now living and working in St Ives, the coast and landscape of the South West has a huge influence on my creativity. A brief time spent on the edge of the Peak District and more than 20 years on the West Coast of Scotland allowed me to develop, observe and immerse myself in my subject. I work mainly 'en plain air' which provides inspiration and is the very essence of my creativity. My approach is rooted in developing a deeper sense of and connection to the land, sea & elements. And, I often develop work further using alternative techniques in my studio.
